Abstract:
The purpose of this program is to develop an experimental prototype gas discharge display panel with internal storage capability. The panel will consist of a X-Y matrix of individual gas cells, each of which can be selected and fired by the application of a short triggering pulse. The objectives are to develop a display with high light output, low firing and distribution voltages, and a configuration such that eventual production panels can be fabricated at the lowest possible cost per unit cell.
