Abstract:

A diurnal variation has been observed at 1000 km in the outer radiation zone in the average intensity of trapped electrons with energies greater than 40 kev and in the average intensity and frequency of occurrence of precipitated electrons of the same energy. Good statistical agreement is obtained between the frequency of occurrency of precipitation and auroral absorption at two different local times. Author
