Abstract:

This thesis develops a specialized digital computer which converts equatorial coordinates into altitude-azimuth coordinates. It briefly looks into three different methods of computing altitude-azimuth coordinates. One of these methods is considered best for the practical problem, that of obtaining coordinates for a large radio telescope. A computer based on this chosen method is then considered in detail.
