The fatigue behavior of candidate sheet materials subjected to supersonic transport load-temperature environments is being evaluated. Constant load amplitude tests will be carried out on specimens without prior exposure and on specimens explosed to load at temperatures of 400 and 600 F for periods of 100, 1000, and 5000 hours. The effects of contaminants will be similarly evaluated using exposure at 650 F for 1000 hours. This report presents static strength of the three materials in the basic program and room temperature S-N data for one of these. The test program and the test apparatus are described and a report on difficulties encountered in the attachment of thermocouples to titanium specimens is presented. Author
