Abstract:

A silver-impregnated composite molybdenum fibermetal O-ring seal was tested as a fuel seal in the temperature range of -100 to 1200 F. The dimensions of the seal were 6-12 in. outside diameter by 6-18 in. inside diameter by 316 in. cross-section diameter. Sealing properties at room temperature were determined by placing the seal between the faying surfaces of a steel test tank and applying internal air pressure.
