Abstract:
Equivalent circuit measurements were made on BB418 cells as a function of residual capacity and time at 200 and 400 cps. No useful correlation with residual capacity was found. A correlation was found with the equivalent circuit product CR sub c for low frequency data taken previously. To pursue this further, different types of cells were tested at 10 cps. BB418 cells were manually cycled, automatically cycled, and stored and C and R sub c measured as a function of time and residual capacaty at 10 cps. The BB418 cells showed the most consistent results, namely that a correlation was found with residual capacity after cells were recently charged or discharged. Circular, sealed cells did not show any consistent relation between C or R sub c and residual capacity. Cells placed on storage did not show any significant change of C or R sub c with time on storage. Author
