Abstract:
Technical results and progress are presented in several phases of continuing applied research and development related to the design and development of high-performance fluid control devices for advanced aerospace system. Continued emphasis is placed on pneumatic components and systems which are capable of performing over wide ranges of temperature and in the presence of intense radiation. Current work is described in the Engineering Projects Laboratory dealing with a new pneumatic pulse actuation servo system, a gas-operated accelerometer, the dispersion of transients in fluid transmission lines, compressible dampers, negative-stiffness flapper valves, and gas-lubricated bearings.
