Abstract:
The basic objectives for Volume I are 1 to provide a vibration analysis for a representative propellant tank solution in the form of a free-vibration solution yielding the natural frequencies and a forced vibration solution, and 2 to develop a single-mode tank model and subsequently a vehicle model which is more consistent with flight data and specifically suitable for studying the 5-cps oscillation problem at rise-off. The first objective provides useful information with respect to the individual tank vibration modes and their relative importance. It also provides a comparative basis for evaluating possible tank models. Author
