Expressions are derived for the space-time correlation of the surface pressure field of a turbulent boundary layer in narrow frequency bands. On the basis of convection of an almost frozen pressure field the amplitude of the filtered correlation in the flow direction is found to be dependent on spatial separation but independent of frequency. Empirical representations of the overall correlations of the pressure field and experimental measurements are given to illustrate the results obtained. Author
