Abstract:
A temperature field as seen by a finite-beam antenna is expressed as the sum of the actual field plus an error term. Dissolution and resolution are explicitly defined and used to study the effects of varying altitude, object size, and object separation. Curves are given which describe the ability of an airborne antenna with a 2.5-deg beam width to resolve objects on the ground. Author
