Abstract:
It was established by means of correlating the numerous data of industrial practice and specialized studies, that all processes of mechanical disintegration of rocks by any tool may be generally described in the form of an equation, which states that the energy capacity of the disintegration process depends on the method and conditions of disintegration in proportion to the rock strength or the uniaxial compression strength and inversely proportional to the thickness of the unit volume of disintegration on the order of 0.62. On the basis of this equation, it is shown that it is possible to determine the coefficient of rock strength with the aid of any rock-crushing tool, and a specific device is presented which is based on the method of rock drilling.
