Abstract:

Presented is a description of a radio-frequency power generator developed at the Aerodynamic Test Laboratory of the U. S. Naval Missile Center, Point Mugu, California. This device was designed and constructed in support of a comprehensive program to study the feasibility and application of R. F. heating techniques in low-density supersonic wind tunnels. The main portion of the experimental study has been fully reported in AFOSR TN 60-648, the present report covers only the design and construction of the R. F. Energy Source and is intended to supplement the main report in providing a description, for the record, of this device for reference in future developments of this kind. Author
