Abstract:

The existence of electromagnetic radiation phenomena emanating from the human subject in a state of intensed psychosensory excitation appears to be strongly indicated, the idea occurred to identify the particular psychobiophysical reaction which manifested itself when the subject was suddenly aroused by an abrupt and unexpected stimulus from a state of tranquility and psychic inertia into thinking of facts, things and persons, whose remembrance induced a hemo-affective resentment. The experiment is arranged as follows the subject, stretched out on a couch with his eyes closed, has to let himself lapse into a state of psychic indifference, i.e. into a passive state. The room is illuminated by a red light. After the oscillator has been adjusted to the point of throwing a strong and steady beam of light, the film is set in motion from the control table. The passive state of the subject is interrupted by a sudden and unexpected command to think of persons or of facts which interest him profoundly in an affective way, in order to elicit a sudden and intense psychosensory, particularly visual, reaction enforced by mental re-enactments.
