Abstract:

A resistivity survey was carried out on Cape Cod near Brewster to investigate the site of a deep strata communicationexperiment. The purpose of the resistivity measurements was three-fold. i To determine if measurements of resistivity by novel techniques from the surface could be used to investigate the properties of deep strata propagation paths. ii To determine whether the resistivity measurements made on the core from the Tubman Hole are representative of all the granite at depth. iii To investigate whether such properties of deep strata propagation as can be determined by resistivity methods are representative of those found in attempting to propagate radio frequency electromagnetic energy. Results indicated that resistivity methods can be used to determine the properties of buried layers. If sufficient profiling data is available, nonlayered interpretations can be attempted. The measurements agreed quite well with the analysis of core samples from the Tubman Hole. Author
