The computer device and circuit research work described in this report includes a phenomena survey intended to develop possible new directions for later research, and analytic and experimental results of investigations of super conductive ternary logic and storage devices. The ferrite logic study describes a flux-steering method and relevant experimental results. The section on logical design research describes extensions and improvements of earlier work in using orthogonal expansions for synthesizing threshold functions, an iterative method for synthesizing linearly separable functions, and further work in multivalued logic systems. The latter topic is primarily concerned with ternary logic, although an extension to p-valued logic is described. The work on system design research is represented by definitions of computer-aided design procedures, and a delineation of problem areas. An annotated bibliography on residue arithmetic is also included. Author
