This phenomenon is the result of a jet sheet following a curved surface located close to, but separated from, the jet by an induced stream of ambient air. Analytical and experimental investigations were conducted. A thick jet analysis of the phenomenon was derived that assesses the thrust augmentation possibilities of the concept. The experimental investigation documented the resulting performance and flow field. The experimental data presented indicates a thrust augmentation of 6 based on the primary jet thrust while deflecting the jet 58 degrees from its original direction.
