Abstract:

The amplitude and phase of the groundwave are calculated for oblique propagation across a flat lying coastline. The land and sea are assumed to be smooth and homogeneous. Attention is focused on the effects which take place near the coastline. It is shown that the reflected wave depends critically on the angle of incidence theta, while the transmitted wave has only a weak dependence on theta. Author
