Analysis of the surface electrical field by a helical electron beam tangential to the surface requires a knowledge of the beam trajectory, as well as an analysis of the beam deflection system used to instrumentally indicate this influence of the surface on the beam. This analysis has been made for a constant surface electrical field where the trajectory can be solved exactly. Constant deflecting fields of down to 1 microV volt can be analyzed with the experimental arrangement described in Part I of this report. Author
