Abstract:

Since Bergs statement of the Deviation Hypothesis a number of scales have been developed utilizing deviant responses. The present study attempted to determine if tranquilizing drugs had an effect on deviant responses and if these drugs effected a scale developed on the PRT for measuring schizophrenia SKI scale. The PRT was administered to matched groups two male and two female of schizophrenic patients one group of each sex received drugs and one group did not receive drugs. The results indicate that there was no significant difference between drug and no-drug groups on the SKI scale. However, when all the options of the PRT are used it is possible to discriminate between schizophrenic patients being administered drugs and those who are not. Author
