Abstract:

An electromagnetic compatibility problem in an airborne weapon system was investigated. The susceptibility to conducted interference of three production modules from the weapon system ampli fier control assembly was evaluated. Results of measurements, for interfering signals applied to the various input leads to the modules, show that susceptibility increased with increasing inter fering-signal frequency. The electronic control amplifier was rebuilt on a separate circuit card using point-to-point wiring the practice for RF circuits. Rewiring resulted in a decrease of about 20 db in the high-frequency interference susceptibility. Furthermore, a high-frequency transistor that was used in a low-frequency circuit appeared to provide lower susceptibility. Author
