Abstract:
Efforts concern an investigation of materials and fabrication techniques capable of leading to a precision, stable, volume resistor composed of inorganic materials. The high temperature deposition of carbon into a porous ceramic was found to produce resistors with excellent properties. Because of the increase in temperature coefficient of resistance with range, this method is only useful for very low-range resistors. Limited performance tests were completed on these resistors. Differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetric analysis studies were made on materials and materials systems of possible use for resistor fabrication.
