Abstract:

New relationships were obtained which enable one to establish limit concentrations of atoms in plasma, below which distortions introduced into the integral intensity of a spectral line, as a result of its reabsorption, are known not to ex ceed 2. Conditions are systemized for lowering the influence of the reabsorption effect, and a discussion is given of the results of some work done for revealing the mechanism of the excita tion of the atoms taking into consideration the earlier unwarrantedly ignored secondary processes.
