Abstract:

The ruggedness and safety of the thermally initiated pyrotechnic delay fuze has been established by laboratory tests. Early field tests established the operability. Subsequent field tests served to refine the operating times and operating altitudes. These fuzes were developed for use with the 3.000 inch Motor Mk 32 Mod O and all developed HASP bodies, which include the 1.375 inch chaff bodies, the 1.375 inch parachute-ballast weight body and the 1.625 inch instrumented body series.
