Abstract:

An analytical procedure to systematically evaluate in, in a quantitative manner, the effects of parameter variations and uncertainties on the dynamic performance of automatic control systems is presented. Indicial performance measures of the integral of time-multiplied error squared type are considred and a quantita tive level of confidence in system performance is predicted by considering plant and controller parameters as normally distributed random vari ables. The procedure is applied to a typical flight control design problem and the analytical results are compared with digital computer re sults. Author
