Abstract:

Absolute differential cross sections are pre sented for the reactions C12Li6,pO17 ground state and first three excited states and C12Li6,dO16 ground state, for laboratory energies from 3.4 to 4.0 MeV. Total cross sec tions are about 1 mb at 4.0 MeV. Fluctuations in the angular distributions and total cross sections suggest that the reactions proceed via the compound nucleus F18 which is excited to the region of over-lapping levels. This is in con trast to the predominantly direct character of the previously studied reaction C12Li6, alpha N14. Author
