This report contains the description of a solution of the problem of self-acting, gas-lubricated, partial-arc, finite-length Journal bearings for steady-state conditions. The results can be used for bearings of many types such as simple, fixed, partial-arc journal bearings tapered land, axial-grooved journal bearings, pivoted-pad journal bearings, and similar geometric shapes. Sample results are plotted, and their utilization for various bearing types is illustrated by examples.
