Abstract:
During this period the 1st Infantry Division continued to conduct combat operations designed to locate and destroy Viet Cong VC and North Vietnamese Army NVA forces and installations in the III Corps Tactical Zone CTZ. Operation MANHATTAN continued into this quarter with a large arms cache and substantial amounts of enemy supplies being captured or destroyed. Operation DALLAS took place in an area east of Highway 16, from the SONG BE river south toward TAN UYEN. The significant aspect of this operation was the destruction of the VINH LOI Woods. There were no major contacts with the enemy during the operation.
