Abstract:
Twenty-six chemicals, about half organic-NF2 compounds, were tested for acute oral andor inhalation toxicity in rats. None was innocuous and none was a violet poison as a class the difluoramines were toxic enough to warrant special handling, especially with respect to vapor inhalation. No meaningful pathological data were collected. The acute oral toxicities of the difluoramine compounds, however, correlated roughly with that of fluoride ion. There was no systematic difference in toxicity between the vicinal and the geminal bisdifluoramino compounds. The equipment, experimental techniques, and calculation methods used are reviewed. Author
