Abstract:
The first quarter-years effort of a 24-month analytical and experimental extension of a previous program, designed to characterize essential propellant properties, is presented in three phases. In Phase 1, the continuous documentation of current propellant properties data is being maintained through a literature survey. Experimental efforts under Phase 2 have resulted in measurements of CH32N2H2 thermal conductivity, ClF5 sonic velocity, CH32N2H2 specific heat, ClF3 phase properties in the critical region and N2 g solubility in ClF5. In addition, assembly of an apparatus to be used in ClF5 viscosity measurements has been completed. Phase 3 efforts resulted in preparation of a bibliography of B2H6 physico-chemical properties.
