Abstract:

This report summarizes the results of a determination of the equipment cooling requirements and the performance characteristics of a refrigeration system necessary to maintain the interior of the forward section fuselage stations 35 through 166 of the XQ-5 Drone within acceptable temperature limits. Cooling requirements were calculated assuming a mean temperature of 150 F in the electronic equipment trays and 250 F in the turboalternator compartment.
