Abstract:
The Project PEBBLE Study Group investigated the problems of mine warfare as employed and encountered in Phase 2 of Guerrilla Warfare. Mine types covered were 1 land mines, 2 river mines, 3 shallow-water coastal mines, and 4 limpet mines. Major areas covered by the study were 1 The Political, Social, Economic and Psychological Environment, 2 Physical Environment, 3 Waterborne Vehicles, 4 Mines and Mining, 5 Mine Countermeasures, and 6 Swimmer and Swimmer Countermeasures. Conclusions and recommendations resulting from the study are presented.
