Pagination or Media Count:
This report describes the production of Grade II HNS, 2,2, 4,4, 6, 6-hexa nitrostilbene from Grade I HNS by a continuous extraction- recrystallization process using acetonitrile-toluene mixed solvents. Grade II HNS has a higher bulk density than Grade I and has improved melting point and vacuum stability. Grade II has been proposed for loading into heat resistant mild detonating fuse and flexible linear shaped charge systems.
