Abstract:

IN ORDER TO REDUCE THE QUANTITY OF EXPERIMENTAL EXPLOSIVES NEEDED FOR UNDERWATER TESTING, A METHOD USING 25-GRAM CHARGES WAS DEVELOPED. This method uses UERL diaphragm gages for relative shock wave power, and pressure-time recording for relative bubble energies only minor modifications to the method used on the one-pound scale were necessary. With pure or waxed explosives, the results agree with previous one-pound shotsALUMINIZED EXPLOSIVES GIVE WIDELY VARIANT RESULTS. Author
