Abstract:

A new lifting clamp was designed and manufactured for handling the 42,000 lb. 103 inch solid cylinders. A 100 ton capacity floor scale was installed and thoroughly tested. Several production cycles have been completed in the impregnating facilities. These cycles incorporated the impregnants which will be used for the CFW graphite cylinders. The results of this production were very satisfactory, yielding additional information and experience which will be utilized in impregnating the 103 inch cylinders. Author
