Abstract:
The multipurpose fabric net, is a lightweight, olive green, nylon net. It weighs one pound and is approximately six feet wide and eight feet long with a 916 inch mesh. It has selvage along the long side with the nylon ends melted together on the short side. The test item in a hammock configuration is strong enough to support a 200pound man. It can be wadded and placed into a fatigue trouser pocket. The test item is designed to provide a suitable net of minimum size and weight. The net is satisfactory with respect to Size and weight, and its use as an improvised hammock, an improvised litter, for caching supplies, as a snipers roost, a camouflage net, for catching fish and trapping small animals, air delivery and air transport operations.
