Abstract:

Large and small displays are equivalent in the amount of data they can present under optimal viewing conditions. A large display may be an economical substitute for several smaller individual displays in situations where all members of a group have the same information requirement. In such an application, large displays would compare unfavorably in terms of system reliability. In general, the functional justification of large displays is based on their se, in conjunction with individual display facilities, to present data required for common reference by a group of people. However, various historical factors and non-functional considerations also tend to influence choice of display size. Author
