Abstract:

Some of the advantage of preimpregnated roving for filament winding over the wet winding system are more uniform resin content less affect on laminate resin content by the mandrel diameter ability to utilize ll resin systems long shelf life shorter production time good storage life and NO SPECIAL PREPARATION REQUIREMENTS EASY QUALITY CONTROL ELIMINATION OF IMPREGNATION PROCESS OF THE WET RESIN ALSO THE WINDING OF UNSTABLE PATTERNS CAN BE MADE WITHOUT SLIPPAGE. The use of numerically controlled winding equipment has a number of advantages over mechanically controlled winding machines such as versatility, accuracy, speed, quality control, and storage of the winding pattern on punch cards andor digital tape. Preimpregnated roving with numerically controlled winding equipment. the preimpregnated material affords more uniform resin content, good storage life, shorter production time. Numerically controlled winding machines have a number of advantages over mechanically controlled winding machines and afford shorter production time.
