Abstract:

The results are presented of two experiments which tested the effectiveness of a read-through training program. The code name for this program is project LOOK. The experiments were designed to answer two questions 1 Can experienced operators in the SAGE air surveillance subsystem be taught to improve their performance in discriminating between wanted and unwanted radar signals. 2 Which elements of the training program are effective in accomplishing the improved system performance. Experimental results indicate that read-through training might be a profitable approach in helping solve system problems related to noise. Author
