Abstract:
The report describes measurements, made by a free wave technique, of the dielectric properties of methyl and ethyl alcohols at wavelengths of 3.11, 4.30 and 9.04 mm. The observations are analyzed in relation to the theory of dispersion and, in conjunction with previously existing measurements at adjacent wavelengths, provide evidence of a second dispersion region at radio frequencies in each liquid in addition to the main one normally associated with Debye-type dipole rotation phenomena.
