Abstract:

Tests made with engraved templates verified that very narrow lines and high contrast are important in achieving good SN ratios. Wobbulation at 500 cps has proved effective in eliminating most of the effects of noise from atmosphere sources, and a phase detector and integrator developed for use at this frequency is expected to reduce residual uncertainties even further.
