Abstract:

Details are given on the design, development, and evaluation of accessory items for the POL hoseline system. All items were developed in conjunction with the hose, and tests on the hose and accessory items were conducted concurrently. These items are repair kit, displacement and evacuation kit, flow control equipment kit, flaking box lifting sling, roadway crossing guard, gap crossing equipment kit, and the coldtemperature hose-packing kit. The hoseline accessory equipment as currently designed and in the quantities provided meets the established technical characteristics and is adequate to support the effective installation, operation, maintenance, and recovery of a 2-12 mile section of the 4-inch POL hoseline system assault support.
