Abstract:

The experimental work is concerned with the rebuilding of a broad-line nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer. First, a short description of the deficiencie and disadvantages of the previous spectrometer is given. Second, a number of changes are described and discussed in the set-up and the electronic circuits by which considerable improvements in the dependability and sensitivity of the instrument was achieved. Third, a commercial 60 Mc. Varian high-resolution spectrometer to broad-line application by the adaption of some units of the broad-line instrument is treated. This was undertaken to compare the sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio of the two different types of n.m.r. spectrometers. Author
