COMPUTATION OF VISUAL RANGE IN FOG AND LOW CLOUDS
INTERMOUNTAIN WEATHER INC SALT LAKE CITY UT
Pagination or Media Count:
Visual ranges were computed for various values of extinction coefficient, for five sets of conditions appropriate to fog and low clouds. The computations involve basic theories of visual range as developed by Allard 1876 and Koschmieder 1924. The four values of the threshold of illumination, which Haig and Morton 1958 determined, were used in the Allard theory computations.
