Abstract:

The use of continued fraction expansions in network theory is well known. An infinite continued fraction expansion, like an infinite series, can be calculated only by means of approximations. The convenience, for practical purposes, of a given expansion, depends on the degree of successive approximations. This problem is discussed for the case of Eulers infinite fraction expansion for the exponential expression exp1z which provides a particularly interesting example for the analytic and circuit representation of highly singular systems.
