Abstract:
To achieve weight reduction it has been proposed that the acrylic canopy on the T-38 airplane could be decreased in thickness. Pertinent data were lacking concerning the fastening of a canopy fabricated of thin stretched-acrylic material. This investigation was required by Body Design to determine whether the specified edge attachment for the thinner canopy would be practical and acceptable for use on current and future aircraft.
