Abstract:

Analytical and experimental studies of stable and unstable combustion phenomena were conducted to determine the parameters affecting inherent stability. It was demonstrated that inherent stability is determined by the amount of pressure-sensitive energy available to a given pressure perturbation, and by the relationship between replenishment of this energy and the time period of the perturbation. Analytical concepts describing the support mechanism and experimental data indicating the complexity of a nonlinear perturbation were established. Author
