Abstract:

The following conclusions were drawn regarding logistics selective systems management 1 The Air Force needs a formal program to select systems which merit systems management 2 The Air Force needs a procedure for periodically evaluating each systems requirement for preferred management and for phasing-out those systems from the systems management concept where the requirement no longer exists 3 Officially, criteria do not exist for the phase-out of systems from the systems management concept and such guidance should be established 4 Until cost and management evaluation reports provide proper data such as accurate AOCP reports, complete costing informats, judgment decisions must be used in the selective management processes 5 An extended area of common interest between the Air Force Systems Command AFSC and Air Force logistics command AFLC has been created by the organization of these two commands and 6 The automatic re-supply logistic system is not being given fair consideration.
