Abstract:

The rate of disappearance of trapped hydrogen atoms in gamma-irradiated ice as been studied at temperatures up to 60 K. H atoms produced by gamma-irradiation of ice at 4.2 K appear to be trapped in a variety of different sites, withACTIVATION ENERGIES FOR DE-TRAPPING RANGING FROM LESS THAN 1.0 TO MORE THAN 2.0 KCALMOLE. The results are discussed in terms of various models the preferred model involves an initially nonisotropic spatial distribution. Author
