Abstract:
Electron-paramagnetic-resonance EPR spectrometry was used to follow quantitatively the formation of trapped OH radicals at 77 K in a sample of ice containing 1 curieml of tritium-labeled water as a source of internal beta-radiation. The results are compared with the results of studies of gamma-irradiated ice. The absolute value of the rate constant at look, activation energy for the process, and 32-order rate expression were the same as those for gammaproduced irradiated ice. Author
