Abstract:
A method is described for the production of photoelectric diodes having maximum sensitivity in the middle ultraviolet. These photodiodes are essentially solar blind. A thin layer of rubidium telluride is formed on the nickel cathode during the evacuation of the tubes. These cathodes showed high quantum efficiency at about 2200 to 2600 Angstroms and little or no sensitivity at wavelengths greater than 3400 Angstroms. Author
